Christ Cathedral_Diocese of Orange
Orange County - California: 2019
This cathedral, designed by architect Philip Johnson in 1980, initially took the name of Crystal Cathedral.
Since 2012 it has been necessary to carry out an important restoration and seismic adjustment.
The project was commissioned to Architect Scott Johnson from the Diocese of Orange, California.
On 17 July 2019 the Cathedral was consecrated to Catholic worship and took the name of Christ Cathedral.
Piero Zanella srl has made all the sacred elements in massive pieces of marble, carved in a contemporary style: Altar, Ambo, Baptismal Font in addition to the Seatings and the Easter Candle. The material was selected directly in the quarry and the various processing phases were studied and carried out in our workshop in Soave (VR) Italy.
